The ability to read and write is foundational for building confidence. It provides a base of strength for seeking opportunities and facing challenges. Decades of nonstop conflict and uncertainty in Afghanistan have left so many girls and women behind. The government lacks the capacity to provide basic public services, such as primary education. Access to learning institutions is even more difficult for those who live in the outskirts of major cities.

Located in the 13th district of Kabul, Waseq Learning and Social Center provides girls and women a safe place to learn and connect.
